In the spirit of the season, we’ll be counting down the Top 7 Most Interesting Lines from Christmas Songs, a list that includes that unforgettable question, “Do you see what I see?” These are the lyrics that have stirred imaginations, puzzled generations, and carried more meaning than a sleigh full of reindeer tracks across a fresh blanket of snow only to hit my grandma.

But beyond the carols and curiosities, we’re stepping back into our study of Ephesians 5, where the apostle Paul calls Christians to a work both courageous and costly: the exposing of darkness. It’s not a popular assignment in any age, but it is one Scripture refuses to let us ignore. And as history shows, light has never retreated simply because shadows protest.
